Painting to me is almost involuntary. I cant make it through the day without a brush touching canvas or paper.

I find inspiration all around me. From the wallpaper in a bathroom, to someone describing their grandmother who always wore a hat and red lipstick- I want to capture it on canvas.

When I’m painting it’s an endless experiment- most of them failed experiments. For every piece i love, I have 10 that get tossed. I don’t have a process. I don’t have a plan. I just go for it. I’ve never been one to read directions of to take classes- I just figure it out by trial and error. Fear of failure is the enemy of creativity.

The only wasted paint is paint left in the tube.
