Artist Bio

Elizabeth Marie Wilson

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. My grandmother, who I was named after, was a gifted artist and art teacher in the 1960's. Growing up, her paintings hung all over my childhood home, which sparked my interest in artistic expression. The paintings she left behind gave me a natural love for art and the hope to carry on her legacy as an artist.

I received my Bachelors degree in Business Marketing at the University of Mississippi. While studying, I took classes and programs at Laguna Gloria under the direction of talented artists who helped shape my technique.

I have always admired interior design, especially the way art can be used to bring together elements of a room. I worked in the interior design business both during and after college which influenced my creative process and gave me an eye for creating art that compliments a space.

I consider my work to be abstract and impressionistic, meaning I heavily rely on my imagination and use color to create movement and light. I enjoy the quiet and solitude of painting and find inspiration in the natural beauty I see around me.
